In 2023, when asked about responsibility for security testing in their organization, 46 percent of respondents worldwide stated that their internal security team was responsible for such testing. Developers and software engineers followed, mentioned by 45 percent of respondents. On the other hand, just under one-third of respondents used external consultants for conducting security testing in their organization in 2023.
