U.S. adults on social networks being managed responsibly 2023, by political stance
According to a November 2023 survey of adults in the United States, the political affiliation of respondents influenced their opinion of whether social media platforms are managed responsibly. Overall, those who identified as Independent were the least likely to think that social networking companies managed their platforms responsibly, with ten percent of Independent voters feeling that they managed their platforms very responsibly, whilst 30 percent felt they were handling their services somewhat irresponsibly. In contrast, Democrats were the most likely to have a positive opinion of the management of social networks, with 22 percent thinking it was very responsible, compared to only 15 percent of Republicans.
