In 2020, 4.79 men and 2.72 women per 100,000 population died as a result of malignant melanoma of the skin in England and Wales. In every year in the provided time interval the mortality rate was higher among men, and the mortality rate has also generally increased among men while for women the mortality rate has remained fairly stable.
