Organ transplants in Brazil 2010-2022
In 2022, the number of organ transplants, including kidney, heart, lung, liver, pancreas, and small bowel, performed in Brazil amounted to 7,679 interventions, up from 7,088 organ transplants reported a year earlier. During the analyzed period, organ transplants increased steadily in the South American country and peaked at about 9,232 in 2019. The sudden drop observed the following year occurred along with the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
