This statistic depicts the effect of use of paid family leave in California in 2009-2010 on employee outcomes. Among the surveyed employees, 91.3 of new mothers reported being able to initiate breastfeeding while using paid family leave. In 2004, California implemented a program that allowed those working in California to receive up to 55 percent of their usual weekly wage for family or medical leave.
