Total trade volume in Southern Africa 2017-2040, by country
Southern African trade amounted to over 478.3 million metric tons in 2017, and was projected to reach around 1.3 billion metric tons in 2040. The highest volumes were recorded by South Africa and Angola, at around 293 million metric tons and 113 million metric tons in 2017, respectively. For South Africa, the amount was expected to reach over 546 million metric tons in 2040. Other Southern African countries with higher trade volumes included Mozambique, Zambia, and Namibia.
