In Portugal, in 2021, around 34 percent of unemployed people reported that their mental health was negatively affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. At the same time, 26 percent of the employed respondents were negatively affected by the pandemic. These figures decreased in 2022, when almost 30 percent of unemployed people decleared having been negatively affected by the pandemic.
