Population access to sanitation facilities in Tanzania 2010-2020
As of 2020, improved latrines were the most used type of sanitation facility in Tanzania, being used by over 24 million people. Around 5.8 million individuals had access to septic tanks, while sewers were available to roughly 300 thousand people. During the period observed, the adoption of improved latrines and septic tanks increased, while the use of sewers sank annually.
