Banking return on equity in Tanzania 2017-2019
Tanzania's banking industry registered a marginally increase in return on equity (ROE) in December 2019. The indicator was measured at 8.1 percent, up from 7.8 percent in September 2019. The change meant Tanzanian banks were slightly making more profit. In comparison to December 2018, ROE registered a huge increment. That month, the indicator was calculated at 3.8 percent. Return on equity is measured by dividing net income by shareholder equity and indicates how efficiently assets are being used to generate profit.
