Philippines: motivations to receive COVID-19 vaccine 2021

A survey in May 2021 in the Philippines reflected that the majority of those willing to receive vaccinations against the coronavirus (COVID-19) cited their safety and protection against the virus as the main reason to be vaccinated. Others stated that they wanted to be vaccinated to avoid contracting the virus and for their family's safety and protection. In contrast, only one percent of the respondents identified others getting the vaccine as their motivation for getting vaccinated.

Question was open-ended. Up to three answers were allowed.

The survey was conducted nationwide with a total of 1,200 respondents. Survey base: 300 respondents each in Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
