A majority of Americans surveyed in early 2021 believed that in order to protect itself and its citizens, the federal government should be enforcing tougher penalties for those guilty of commiting cyber crimes. Many also felt that prevention was crucial, with nearly 52 percent agreeing that more should be invested in preventative measures. Although most felt that there was already enough funding being assigned to protection, about 30 percent still said they wished for more funding to be allocated to the cause.
What do you believe the federal government should be doing to protect itself and American citizens from cyber threats?
