Share of nuclear in electricity generation in Taiwan 2009-2022
In 2022, approximately nine percent of electricity in Taiwan was generated from nuclear energy. In the past decade, the share of nuclear in the island's power mix decreased from a share of more than 20 percent recorded in 2009. This declining trend is a consequence of the 2016 decision of the Taiwanese government to phase out nuclear energy by 2025, withdrawn in 2019.
