Japan: perceived burden of car maintenance by cost 2023

According to a survey conducted in June 2023, around 68.6 percent of private car owners in Japan experienced automobile taxes as a burden. The burden of parking fees had the widest urban-rural gap. While nearly 33 percent of car owners in the city perceived parking fees as a burden, just over 17 percent in the countryside shared this impression.
