Undernourishment in Middle African countries 2004-2022
Between the period of 2020 and 2022, Central African Republic was the leading Middle African country in terms of undernourishment, at a ratio of 48.7 percent of the population. By comparison, from 2004 to 2006, Angola had the highest level of undernourished population (52.6 percent), exceeding the Middle African average by 20.7 percentage points. On the other hand, the prevalence of undernourishment was lowest in Sao Tome and Principe between 2004 and 2006 (10.3 percent) and in Cameroon from 2020 to 2022 (6.4 percent).
