Leading disaster preparation arrangements among people in Japan 2019
According to a survey conducted on measures taken to prepare for disaster in Japan in October 2019, 84.4 percent of the respondents stated that they had a flashlight at home in case of emergencies. By comparison, 6.7 percent of the respondents claimed that they did not have any disaster preparations. Since Japan is situated in an area where several tectonic plates meet, the country is vulnerable to natural disasters like earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.
