Ipsos surveys conducted between December 2011 and June 2019) as the happiest of the selected countries, with 89 percent of happy respondents. However the number had dropped to 50 percent by 2019. The majority of other selected countries were also happier in 2011 compared to 2019, although the difference was not as big as for Turkey. Hungary is the only country that increased the level of happiness of its residents in 2019 versus 2011, but only by seven percentage points.
